GREEN BAY Eric Kush Jersey , Wis. (AP) — for the Green Bay Packers. And another change of teams for tight end Martellus Bennett. The Packers, already dealing with quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ absence because of a broken collarbone, will have to make further adjustments after waiving Bennett on Wednesday.Bennett was claimed off waivers on Thursday by the New England Patriots, the team with which Bennett won a Super Bowl last season.Bennett, the team’s big offseason free-agent acquisition, gave the Packers one of the deepest tight end groups in the NFL with Richard Rodgers and Lance Kendricks. A powerful line-of-scrimmage blocker with five consecutive seasons of 50-plus receptions, Bennett provided fresh options to a potent offense.Coach Mike McCarthy leaned heavily on Bennett, who played on 83 percent of snaps. While he is fourth on the team with 24 receptions for 233 yards, his biggest contributions came in the run game. The Packers rank fifth in the NFL at 4.53 yards per carry.“Any time you lose one of your top-caliber players it’s an adjustment http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-roquan-smith-jersey ,” McCarthy said on Thursday. “You look at the adjustment you make with Aaron lost at quarterback and having three veteran tight ends on a roster, now you’re down to two. You adjust the way you do things, the way you game plan and the way you move forward.”The Packers released Bennett for failing to disclose a physical condition.During the Packers’ bye week, Bennett posted on Instagram that he was “pretty sure” he would retire at the end of the season.Bennett practiced on the Tuesday after the bye. After a day off Wednesday, Bennett did not participate in the practice the rest of the week and was inactive for Monday night’s loss against Detroit because of a shoulder injury.McCarthy said he did not talk to Bennett about retiring, and he wouldn’t speculate on whether there was any connection between Bennett’s Instagram post, the injury and the team’s sagging fortunes without Aaron Rodgers. Bennett has also played for the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Chicago Bears.“I think we know where we’re trying to go. If someone is not on that boat, it’s better that they’re not here,” Richard Rodgers said. “We’re looking to move on. We know our ultimate goal.”Asked if he didn’t believe Bennett was “on the boat Womens Eddie Goldman Jersey ,” Richard Rodgers said, “I really can’t answer that.”Bennett’s agent, Kennard McGuire, declined a request for comment from The Associated Press.Rodgers, a third-round pick in 2014, played 33 snaps against Detroit and Kendricks, a seventh-year player from Wisconsin who also was signed in free agency, played 29. Both are capable receivers.Rodgers caught 58 passes in 2015 before ceding time last season to then-starter Jared Cook. Kendricks caught a career-high 50 passes for the Rams last season. This season, Kendricks has caught eight passes for 126 yards and one touchdown and Rodgers has caught four passes for 43 yards.“He took on a very heavy role and I thought he did a good job with it,” Kendricks said. “Luckily Marcus Cooper Jersey , I have Rich, who’s been here for four years. Hopefully we can build off that.”NOTES: DT Quinton Dial (chest) did not practice. … OLB Ahmad Brooks (back), who has missed the past three games, was limited. Dolphins left tackle Laremy Tunsil‘s exit from last Sunday’s game with a concussion wound up coinciding with the start of the team’s meltdown from being up 17-0 to losing to the Bengals, so it’s good news that he’s set to be in the lineup for this Sunday’s game against the Bears.Tunsil has been practicing all week and head coach Adam Gase announced on Friday that he’s cleared all stages of the concussion protocol. The Dolphins are down two starters — center Daniel Kilgore and guard Josh Sitton are both on injured reserve — on the offensive line, so avoiding any other losses is a positive. If Tunsil’s presence helps slow Khalil Mack and the rest of the Bears defense, it will be an even bigger positive. The chances of defensive end Cameron Wake playing don’t sound nearly as good. Gase said, via Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, that the team is being “very cautious” with the veteran so that his knee injury doesn’t get worse.

The offense is looking to be at nearly full strength for the first time this season, and it couldn’t come at a better moment.Henry suffered a noncontact ACL tear during organized team activities in May and has missed the entire regular season. Following the injury, the Chargers signed off-and-on love-interest tight end Antonio Gates to a one-year contract. That contract Womens Desmond King Jersey , by the way, wasn’t signed until the week before the season began, so it truly has been a rollercoaster of concern for the Chargers faithful this season.Gates performed admirably through the season, and he lead the Chargers’ tight ends in catches (28), receiving yards (333) and touchdowns (2).Henry should make quite an impact if he’s at 75% strength or better. In his rookie season, he scored the second-most touchdowns by a rookie tight end in the last decade (8, only behind Rob Gronkowski), and scored the fifth most touchdowns by a rookie tight end in NFL history. In 2017 Brandon Mebane Jersey , he finished the season with 45 receptions for 579 yards and four touchdowns. He left the season in late December with a kidney laceration, but was expected to be a force this year until his ACL injury derailed so many plans. We will see how well he practices this week, and all eyes will be on the field this weekend as he adds another valuable weapon to Philip Rivers’ impressive arsenal.-Jason “Love me some tight ends” Michaels Raiders wasted little time in finding Reggie McKenzie’s replacement" Latest NewsRaiders to hire NFL Network’s Mike Mayock as general managerNew,30commentsRaiders wasted little time in finding Reggie McKenzie’s replacementByMichael Peterson@ZoneTracksDec 31, 2018, 11:53am PSTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:Raiders to hire NFL Network’s Mike Mayock as general managerTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailPhoto by David Eulitt/Getty ImagesEarly Monday morning, it was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Oakland Raiders are set to name Mike Mayock as their next general manager.Mayock, one of the NFL Network’s most notable NFL draft analysts http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-michael-schofield-jersey , is expected to be officially announced as the next GM as early as today.Following the Raiders 35-3 loss to the Kansas Chiefs on Sunday evening, head coach Jon Gruden was asked about his team’s decision to bring on the longtime evaluator, calling him a “passionate personnel man.”“He loves it,” exclaimed Gruden. “He has done it for a long time. I know he has had opportunities to get back into the NFL as a general manager. We will see what happens. We will see how the dust settles.”With the Raiders possessing three picks in the first round, including the first round selections of the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears, Mayock gets a great first draft to build on and an excellent opportunity to put all of that experience towards building the cloudy future of the Raiders organization.
in Steelers running back The Philadelphia Eagles are “interested” in acquiring Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-malik-jackson-jersey , according to a report from NFL insider Jason La Canfora.Earlier this week, La Canfora mentioned the Eagles as a “sleeper team” when it comes to a potential Bell trade. As noted, the logistics of this trade situation are not simple. Bell is currently holding out from the Steelers, who have placed the franchise tag on him. Bell needs to sign that one-year, $14.5 million tender before he can be dealt. The Eagles Womens Timmy Jernigan Jersey , who have around $4.58 million in cap space according to Over The Cap, would need to clear up some room before being able to bring him on. (La Canfora keeps mentioning trading Nick Foles as a means of freeing up money.) Philadelphia would also not be permitted to negotiate a new contract with Bell until the season is over, so he could very well end up being a rental.Perhaps there’s a price where acquiring Bell as a short-term player makes sense. Jay Ajayi is dealing with a fracture in his back so it remains to be seen just how effective he’ll be. Darren Sproles is set to miss his third game with a hamstring injury. Bell could be a boost to a recently sluggish Eagles offense. NFL insider Adam Schefter says the Steelers’ price for Bell is a second-round pick AND a good player, which is obviously just way too high. And with the Steelers being the ones actively shopping Bell, it’s not like they have all the leverage here. Maybe Howie Roseman can work his magic and get Bell at a surprisingly reasonable price. That’d be fun.But I just don’t see it happening. We just watched the Eagles rush for 142 combined yards with the likes of Wendell Smallwood Stefen Wisniewski Jersey , Corey Clement, and Josh Adams last week. Philadelphia obviously won’t be able to do that with those guys in every game. But there’s something to be said for nothing having to interest a lot of resources in the running back position to get good production there.Another consideration is that paying Bell this year limits the amount of cap space the Eagles can roll over to 2018 to help pay for Carson Wentz’s mega extension. Not to mention potentially re-signing the likes of Brandon Graham, Ronald Darby, Jordan Hicks, Jay Ajayi http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-carson-wentz-jersey , etc.Eagles fans are clearly split down the middle when it comes to the idea of trading for Bell. Check out these Bleeding Green Nation poll results:Count me among those who don’t think the Eagles should make the move. It looked like all hope was lost. The Chicago Bears drove into field goal range for a 43-yard field goal attempt with 10 seconds remaining in a one-point game. The Bears make that kick and the Philadelphia Eagles are eliminated from the 2019 NFL Playoffs despite the fact Nick Foles left the field with the lead. It was the Eagles’ January 2014 loss to the New Orleans Saints all over again.BUT THEN THE DOUBLE DOINK HAPPENED. Cody Parkey’s kick got tipped by Eagles defensive tackle Treyvon Hester before hitting the left upright, bouncing down to the crossbar, and then falling harmlessly to the grass at Soldier Field. of news with a pair of offseason print interviews that included strong opinions regarding a variety of players. This week Donte Moncrief Jersey , Ramsey made the rounds on behalf of Old Spice for radio/TV spots. Appearing on #PFTPM, Ramsey was asked as to the headline-creating and interviews whether he’d do anything differently.鈥淣ah, I wouldn鈥檛,” Ramsey said. “I鈥檓 me, unapologetically. The only thing I would say is sometimes when things are written and you can鈥檛 hear how it is said or in the context that it鈥檚 said or the tone that it鈥檚 said, then it can be taken differently than it was originally intended to be taken. But, no http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-a.j.-bouye-jersey , I鈥檓 me unapologetically.鈥漅amsey was asked for an example of something that was taken differently than it was originally intended to be taken.鈥淢ost things, dude, most of it,” Ramsey said. “But that鈥檚 OK, it is what it is.鈥漅amsey acknowledged that he learned a valuable from the experience, which often entails the subject of the interview getting very comfortable (perhaps too comfortable) and saying things that can and will be used against him.鈥淛ust have to be careful in times like that,” Ramsey said. It’s a lesson that Ramsey learned first hand; other players who haven’t been through this experience can learn from it Womens Leonard Fournette Jersey , too. Long-form print interviews can be very dangerous. Plenty of writers who do them know how to create an atmosphere that is conducive to candid, blunt comments that the subject of the interview would never make in a more controlled setting. Sometimes, a seemingly innocent beer or two (or more) will loosen the tongue. And then the interview comes out, the writer gets applauded, and the subject of the interview has to deal with the fallout.Ramsey handled it well, owning his words and taking the heat. Others, if they understand what happened to Ramsey Barry Church Jersey , will at least appreciate the connection between a loose, fun, relaxed exchange and unambiguous words reduced to black and white that result in a bunch of people being pissed off. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsThe 2018 NFL season is nearing an end. With the Super Bowl just days away the Jacksonville Jaguars are in the same position they have been for much of the past decade at this time — deciding who they should take at the top of the first round.Dan Kadar of MockingTheDraft.com has done a couple of mock drafts for us and a few weeks ago, he had us taking Ole Miss offensive tackle Greg Little with the seventh overall pick. Has the Senior Bowl changed his mind? What about Kyler Murray declaring for the 2019 NFL Draft.Nope.In his latest mock draft, Kadar still has us going with an offensive tackle, but this time he’s from Alabama and not Mississippi.Kadar is right in his assessment of the Senior Bowl quarterbacks. None of them showed enough last week to change my mind that this is a two-quarterback draft in Dwayne Haskins and Kyler Murray — and Haskins will be the highest drafted of the two.But to pass on Murray after the New York Giants take Haskins would be a mistake http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-ereck-flowers-jersey , in my opinion.Kadar is predicting what the Jaguars are likely to do, not what they should do, and I agree that the Jacksonville front office will probably be dissuaded from drafting a 5-foot-10 quarterback in Murray. But that doesn’t make it any less a bad move. What do you think? If Haskins is gone, would you beef up the offensive line or would you go out and get Murray? Let us know in the comments below!
CHICAGO (AP) — Glover Quin had a chance to stop Anthony Miller. He ended up on the ground on the sideline Eric Kush Jersey , watching as Miller sped toward the end zone.It was that kind of day for Detroit’s secondary.Playing without injured cornerback Darius Slay, the Lions were picked apart by Mitchell Trubisky in a 34-22 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Quin, DeShawn Shead and Nevin Lawson each had costly missed tackles, and coverage issues created large swatches of open green grass for Allen Robinson and the rest of Chicago’s receivers.“It is on us,” Quin said. “We have to turn it around. At the end of the day, we’re the ones out there playing. We have to get it fixed.”Detroit (3-6) had played well against the pass in its first year under coach Matt Patricia, who was New England’s defensive coordinator for six seasons before taking over the Lions in February. But the secondary issues for the Lions in their third consecutive loss looked more like their old teams than anything from Patricia’s time with the Patriots.“Ran into each other on one particular big play. We had a communication thing on another one,” Patricia said. “But look http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-roquan-smith-jersey , in the end, I just got to do a better job coaching it up and getting them in the right positions and we got to go out and execute.”The trouble began on the first drive of the game. Shead was unable to bring down Robinson on a slant, and he ran all the way down to the Detroit 3 for a 35-yard play. Tarik Cohen carried the ball in for the Bears (6-3) on the next play.Shead got the start in place of Slay, who was sidelined for the first time this season because of a knee injury.“Look, we’re going to play with whoever’s healthy and whoever’s ready to go,” Patricia said. “So, for us, if you’re out on the field you got to perform. You got to go out and execute. So obviously we didn’t do a good job early on with our execution in the back end.”The 29-year-old Shead had more trouble in the final minute of the first quarter. Chicago was facing third-and-15 at the Detroit 36 when Shead was beaten by Robinson at the line. He caught up Womens Eddie Goldman Jersey , but couldn’t find the ball as Robinson adjusted to make the catch in the end zone.It was more of the same in the second quarter. Miller was wide open on a reception on the right side of the field. Quin came over and tried to bring him down near the 20, but Miller ran through his tackle attempt for a 45-yard touchdown that made it 19-0 with 11:24 left in the first half.“We just have to execute better,” Shead said. “Just go in, look at the tape and just see, I mean the little things, the little mistakes. I know … one play was miscommunication on my part on the back end. Just being on the same page and just jelling together and executing.”Chicago led 26-7 at halftime. Trubisky was 14 for 16 for 209 yards at the break with a perfect passer rating of 158.3.The Lions’ chances for a comeback took a hit when Robinson ran out of Lawson’s tackle attempt for a 26-yard TD reception in the third quarter.Detroit began the weekend ranked fourth in the NFL with just 214.6 yards passing allowed per game. But Trubisky finished with a career-high 355 yards through the air, and Robinson and Miller each went over 100 yards receiving.“There’s a combination of a lot of fundamentals right now that need to be better across the board,” Patricia said. “Tackling is one of them Marcus Cooper Jersey , but there’s certainly, obviously, a bunch of things we need to work on.” The former standout Atlanta special teams gunner is on his way to Chicago."While some expected the Bears to land a free agent big fish after restructuring Khalil Mack’s earlier this week, general manager Ryan Pace has instead worked toward filling in depth and smaller roster holes. The latest comes in the form of former Falcons receiver and special teams standout Marvin Hall, who agreed to a one-year deal with Chicago Friday, according to the Bears. Hall, 25, spent the first two years of his professional career in Atlanta featuring as afourth and fifth receiver in the Falcons’ offense. He was superstar Julio Jones’ main backup at the X-receiver spot. Though http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-fuller-jersey , with a career 12 receptions, 209 receiving yards and two touchdowns, you’d be hard-pressed to say Hall’s someone with much of any relevant experience on offense. He stepped in for emergency purposes and filled in admirably when asked. The gist is that Hall’s more serviceable than wholly reliable: Something to be expected for a receiver at the bottom of a depth chart. Where Hall should make most of his impact in Chicago is on special teams. A solid gunner and backup returner in Atlanta’s scheme, Hall could reasonably be seen as Josh Bellamy’s replacement — who signed with the Jets earlier this week. The Bears had one of the NFL’s worst special teams units last season as they ranked 26th overall in Football Outsiders’ DVOA. A bit of necessary change, even a wholesale overhaul, isn’t the craziest development to consider. When your third phase is as much of a non-factor as it was for the Bears’ last year, anything is possible. Pace and company can’t afford to let one unit drag them down as much as their special teams did in the pursuit of a championship. It remains to be seen whether Hall will be unnecessarily piled on and criticized if pressed in on offense as a fourth or fifth receiver, but never give up hope. Scapegoats are a dime a dozen. Be it on offense or special teams Womens Bryce Callahan Jersey , Hall fits the bill of increasing speed and athleticism across the board for the Bears. As a guy who once ran a 4.28 40-yard dash at his Washington Pro Day two years ago, Hall is a quintessential blazer. Make no mistake: Guys with speed find their way on to the field more often than not. It’s rare you’ll lose with speed at any level. With Hall in particular, think Taylor Gabriel-lite as a solid comparison. Matt Nagy is loading up his arsenal of weapons to play around with, as is special teams coordinator Chris Tabor. Hall is yet another puzzle piece in a Chicago grand design, albeit a smaller one. Are You Most Excited To Watch? As much as the general public will be keeping their eyes on the explosive offense Womens Jatavis Brown Jersey , there are plenty of young playmakers on the defensive side that could see significant playing time from the jump.In what could be a year full of improved depth at several positions, here’s who the staff will be paying especially close attention to on Saturday night.Kyle Posey: Rayshawn Jenkins for me. Wanna see if that’s the extra DB they bring in. How he’s adapting to playing free safety as opposed to in the box and slot last year. I’ll be interested to see how aggressive he is compared to Tre Boston.Matthew Stanley: On defense I’ll be watching Rayshawn Jenkins. The team really needs him to be able to play FS so that they can get the most out of Derwin James, and I’m not sure if Jahleel Addae should go back to FS, even though last year he showed improvement vs the pass.Jamie Hoyle: I’ll go with Kyzir White (leaving the obvious Derwin James pick to someone else). I just loved watching his college tape and am excited to see how his game translates to the NFL. I have a hunch he’s going to be a guy the defense feeds off of when he’s on the field because of the reckless abandon with which he plays.Isaac Gutierrez: To me, it’s Uchenna Nwosu. He has the potential to be a huge improvement over Kyle Emanuel but there’s also a possibility he isn’t ready to contribute from day one. He could go either way and I wouldn’t be surprised regardless of the outcome.Ruben Gonzalez: I am intrested in watching DE Whitney Richardson. He’ll probably be in on the 3rd team but I remember at the scrimmage seeing him flash when he was in there. There’s a log jam at DE right now, so I don’t expect him to jump over anybody, but I am hoping he can make this team and be a real solidifying figure on the end rather than just make it on the practice squad.Louis Gorini: I will be watching Darius Philon. The middle of the defense needs to improve from last year. Darius flashed in many instances last year, especially in his pass rush. I want to see if he can continue his upward projection and move the middle of the pile to get in the face of the QB. What will also be interesting to watch how he fares against the run.Jamie Sewell: On defense, my choice is B.J Clay Rayshawn Jenkins Jersey , but that’s just because he went to Georgia State, so I’ll give you a second name - Jatavis Brown. He had a real down year last season, and I want to see if he can bounce back in a big way, starting tomorrow.Cody Young: I’ll go with the obvious answer of Derwin James that Jamie so graciously left on the table. I’m still in bewilderment as to how the Chargers were able to land him where they did in the draft. He is the player I’m most looking forward to watching this season, and I can’t wait to see him in action for the first time.Michael Peterson: While there are a large number of interesting UDFAs in this year’s haul, none have peaked my interest more than LB D’Juan Hines out of Houston. With inside linebacker depth being one of the weakest on the team, Hines has the opportunity to win a job over the likes of Hayes Pullard and Nick Dzubnar to create some solid depth behind Denzel Perryman. After a year that saw Pullard grade out as one of the worst players in the NFL by Pro Football Focus, regardless of position, the Chargers will need to someone in order to make the talent drop-off much less dramatic.Los Angeles Chargers Daily Links: Who Makes the Most Sense for Chargers at 17? The 2018 NFL Draft's most versatile offensive linemen - Michael RennerWynn was solid those first two seasons http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-justin-jones-jersey , with 83.9 and 81.9 overall grades in 2015 and 2016, respectively. He didn’t take his game to the next level, though, until this past season when he posted an 88.0 overall grade and allowed only five pressures all season long. The leap has some NFL teams reportedly still willing to try him at tackle despite measuring in at 6-foot-3 with 33 3/8 inch arms at the combine.Mailbag: The Chargers' Secret Draft Weapon - Ricky HenneThe Bolts currently have 61 players on the roster with 24 hours to go until the draft starts. If they make no trades over the three-day span, they'll select seven players, meaning the Chargers are primed to add 22 players as undrafted free agents. If you’re a betting man, it’s safe to assume one of them will make an impact in 2018.Jaylen Watkins Set to Make Bolts' Loaded Secondary Even Stronger - Ricky Henne“The secondary, and seeing their pass defense last year (was impressive),” he said. “Just the way they played and their pass rush Womens Kyzir White Jersey , I just feel like they have something good going鈥eenan (Allen) did really well. Obviously, Philip (Rivers) did a great job.Hunter Henry got in the end zone.Just seeing the guys compete. They competed and had it at the end of the game. All you can ask for is a chance to win at the end of the game.”Why Rashaan Evans makes sense for Chargers at No. 17 - Eric Williams"Especially early I think the linebacker group," the Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator told reporters Monday. "Sometimes you look at the linebackers and you feel like there's a couple that fit your scheme, or that intrigue you. And I think this year, especially in the early rounds, it seems like a good group of linebackers."Drafting a quarterback remains a possibility for Chargers - Eric Williams"We scout them all, so we don't just spend all of our time on first-round quarterbacks," Telesco said. "The same amount of time that goes into those first-round guys also goes into those guys that will go in the third, four Virgil Green Jersey , fifth or sixth rounds.Hunter Henry is Primed for a Breakout Season - John PaulsenGates played a minor role as a rookie and then blew up in his second season, garnering 114 targets for a receiver-deprived Chargers offense (WR Eric Parker was second on the team in targets with 71!). Gates caught 81 passes for 964 yards and 13 touchdowns that year. Even with Gates’ monster season, Henry’s numbers through two years are very respectable in comparison. Unsurprisingly, he didn’t get as much volume as Gates did—in large part to the fact Gates was still on the roster—but he posted a slightly better Yards Per Reception, Catch % and Fantasy Points Per Target. team in the preseason.Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said Tuesday he plans to sit most of his starters http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-dallas-goedert-jersey , including his quarterback, against Philadelphia this week. Marrone said starters will play in the team’s third exhibition game, at Miami next week. But Marrone quickly added that Foles would only get on the field against the Dolphins if Jacksonville’s starting offensive line is intact.Left tackle Cam Robinson (knee), guard Andrew Norwell (quadriceps) and rookie right tackle Jawaan Taylor (knee) were limited participants in practice Tuesday.“If the third preseason game comes and someone doesn’t play, it’s probably on the verge of just being cautious,” Marrone said.Marrone rested 31 players, including 20 starters, in the exhibition opener at Baltimore last week. Lee tore several ligaments in his left knee in the team’s third preseason game.“I think it’s important that you play that (third preseason) game because you are presenting and you want to get the players in the right frame of mind,” Marrone said.Foles seemed to sense he wouldn’t play against the Eagles.“It’ll mean a lot to see those guys pregame and catch up with a lot of those guys,” he said. “They’re family to me, always will be. So it’ll be good to see a lot of their faces and talk to them, see how they’re doing.”Foles led Philadelphia to four playoff victories over the last two seasons, including the franchise’s first NFL title since 1960. He earned 2018 Super Bowl MVP honors and made himself the league’s premier quarterback commodity. He signed a four-year, $88 million contract with Jacksonville in March that included $50.125 million guaranteed. The 30-year-old Foles appears to be a significant upgrade for a team that’s spent most of the last 15 years searching for a franchise quarterback. He’s poised in the pocket Alshon Jeffery Jersey , has a strong grasp of the offense and makes nearly every throw on time and into precise spots. He’s also taken on a leadership role, arriving early and staying late.On Tuesday, after struggling to connect on corner routes during red-zone drills, Foles stuck around after practice and worked to perfect those timing passes with receivers Chris Conley and Keelan Cole. He then opted to run sprints by himself back and forth across the field.Foles has started 44 games in seven NFL seasons with Philadelphia, Kansas City and St. Louis. He has 68 touchdown passes and 33 interceptions.Rookie Gardner Minshew is expected to start Thursday night against the Eagles. Foles will be watching and helping from the sideline.“There’s a method behind the madness, so we trust that,” Foles said. “We’re getting those game reps out here (in practice). Obviously, it’s not in a stadium http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-lane-johnson-jersey , it’s not under the lights, and that is a different animal in itself. But we’re getting a lot of work, and when we do take the field, when coach decides that, we’ll be ready to roll.” The 2019 NFL offseason has begun for the Philadelphia Eagles, which means Howie Roseman and Doug Pederson will spend the next couple of weeks evaluating the 2018 roster. It’s time to start figuring out what this team needs to do to get back to the Super Bowl. Today we’ll continue this roster outlook series by looking at the kicker position.THE PLAYERJAKE ELLIOTTRegular season stats: 26 field goals made on 31 attempts (no attempts from 1-19 yards, 7/7 from 20-29 yards, 10/11 from 30-39 yards Womens Nelson Agholor Jersey , 7/8 from 40-49 yards, 2/5 from 50+ yards), longest made field goal of 56 yards, 33/35 on extra points, 67.8 yards per kickoff attempt (15th out of 34 kickers)Playoff stats: 1 field goal made on 1 attempt (43 yards), 3/3 on extra pointsReview: Despite having identical field goal stats (26/31) as last year, Elliott showed some improvement in 2018. He only missed one field goal from the 30-39 range in 2018 whereas he missed three in 2017. Elliott also missed one fewer extra point than he did in 2017, though he also had seven fewer tries. Three of Elliott’s missed field goals in 2018 were from 50 yards and beyond Zach Ertz Jersey , which is more forgivable. Elliott really only had two painful misses in 2018. One was a 36-yard field goal attempt against the Panthers in Week 7. If Elliott makes that, the Eagles are ultimately able to kick a short field goal for the win instead of trying to go for a touchdown and turning the ball over on fourth downs. Perhaps the “Carson Wentz isn’t clutch!” narrative looks a little different. And speaking of that narrative, Elliott also missed an extra point in Week 14 against the Cowboys that didn’t help Wentz. If Elliott makes a 33-yard try in Dallas, the Eagles are able to take a one-point lead late in the fourth quarter instead of merely tying the game at 23-23 and sending it into overtime. Elliott can certainly afford to improve even more with extra points considering he finished 20th out of kicker in XP% in 2018 and 25th in 2017. Outlook: Elliott can leave you feeling frustrated on occasion but he’s typically come up clutch in big spots. His Week 16 game-winner against the Texans is a reminder of that very fact. Elliott will officially be the Eagles’ kicker in 2019 after the team gives him a minimum contract offer this offseason since he’s an exclusive-rights free agent.
JACKSONVILLE Donte Moncrief Jersey , Fla. (AP) — There are two games Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue would like to erase from his resume — and his memory. Both against Tennessee. Both in prime time. Both lopsided losses. The Titans (1-1) have embarrassed the Jaguars (0-2) in each of their past two midweek games, jumping out to a 27-0 lead in October 2016 and running wild in a 30-9 victory last December.Article continues below ...Jacksonville would like to end the trend at home Thursday night.“Just want to kind of change that feeling of losing to those guys,” Ngakoue said. “I know they feel like they’ve got a number on us. We’ve got to change that. That stigma, we’ve got to change that, that outlook.”Tennessee has won four in a row and six of seven in the series, allowing a combined 41 points during the winning streak.Derrick Henry got the Titans rolling in the most recent beat-down, breaking four tackles on his way to the second 99-yard run in NFL history (Tony Dorsett, 1983). The 247-pound Henry sidestepped two defenders at the line of scrimmage, cut outside, stiff-armed cornerback A.J. Bouye and then tossed Leon Jacobs to the ground. Fellow linebacker Myles Jack had a final chance to knock Henry out of bounds around the 20-yard line, but failed to get it done.Henry finished with 238 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries, but only one of those will be remembered. The play ranked No. 89 in the NFL’s “100 Greatest Plays” list recently released. It surely will be shown again during the broadcast Thursday.Henry, though, would rather be done with it.“I am tired of seeing it,” said Henry, who grew up near Jacksonville in Yulee. “I know for sure they are.”No doubt.Jaguars defensive coordinator Todd Wash opted to keep the clip out of film study this week.“We don’t need to watch that again,” Wash said. “I see it on NFL Network all the time. My wife always brings it up. ‘That wasn’t a very good play.’ I’m like, ‘Mr. Obvious, right?’ … The bottom line is he made a play. Give credit to him, but we have to do a better job of stopping it this time.”Even Henry has moved on.“It’s over with, man,” Henry said. “It was a great moment. I appreciate it. I cherish it. But it’s time to move on, man. It’s over with.”The Jaguars hope to say the same about their losing ways — overall and in the series.Jacksonville has dropped 12 of its past 14 games and is 0-2 for the first time in coach Doug Marrone’s three years. The Jaguars need a victory to salvage an awful start that included losing quarterback Nick Foles (broken collarbone) for at least two months and then having their best player, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, request a trade following a sideline argument with Marrone.“We need it bad http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-a.j.-bouye-jersey ,” Bouye said. “We know what they’ve done to us the last few years. … Once we get over that hump, I think it’s going to help us.”Here are some other things to know about the game:RAMSEY WATCHJaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey walked out of practice Wednesday, stopped at one of the team golf carts, grabbed his cellphone and made a call. It appeared as if he was checking on the status of his trade request.A few minutes later, coach Doug Marrone said Ramsey will start against the Titans.Marrone also said he and Ramsey spoke for the first time since their sideline spat during Sunday’s 13-12 loss at Houston.“It’s like anything else in this profession: It’s behind us now,” Marrone said. “His focus is on playing and doing the best job for his teammates, and my job is to do the best for the team. That’s behind us right now.”ERROR-FREE BALLThe Titans lead the NFL in turnover margin, with five takeaways and no turnovers. It’s their best start in the category since 2013.FEW FLAGSTennessee was the least-penalized team in the NFL last season and is off to another strong start. The Titans have a league-low 11 penalties through two games. That ties them with Pittsburgh, Carolina and Indianapolis for the fewest. Since the start of the 2018 season, the Titans have only 93 penalties — 10 fewer than the next closest team.O-LINE SHUFFLEJaguars left tackle Cam Robinson (knee) will make his season debut, sending second-year pro Will Richardson to the bench. Richardson is expected to get some snaps at right guard while alternating series with A.J. Cann. What the Jacksonville Jaguars will do with their pick at number seven overall is anyone’s guess. However, we have a pretty good idea— both from their in-house visits as well as pressing needs, at which positions the team is likely headed towards improving with their first round pick. With that in mind, I decided to break down three potential scenarios that can face the Jaguars on Thursday from the perspective of how things play out prior to their pick, what it could cause the team to do when they’re on the clock, and how it would impact their next six selections over the weekend. Some may seem far fetched, but keep in mind, anything can happen in the draft.Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments.Scenario 1: “The Chalk”What happens picks No. 1-6: We start with the outcome that seems to be the consensus of most reputable mock drafts for weeks now. ARI- Kyler Murray, QB, OklahomaSF- Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio St.NYJ- Quinnen Williams, DL, AlabamaOAK- Josh Allen Womens Leonard Fournette Jersey , Edge, KentuckyTB- Devin White, LB, LSUNYG- Rashan Gary, DL, MichiganWhat do the Jaguars do at No. 7: In this scenario, the consensus top five players are all off the board immediately in Murray, Bosa, Williams, Allen, and White. The Giants select Gary with their first of two first round selections and likely wait on a quarterback with the 17th overall pick. This leaves the Jags with their choice from the top offensive lineman or tight end on their board, as well as a group of defensive help in Ed Oliver, Montez Sweat, and Brian Burns. Since we’re taking the chalk route here, the Jaguars decide to take the highest rated offensive linemen on their board and draft the offensive tackle from Florida, Jawaan Taylor. Thus ensuring no questions remain heading into camp as to who the starting five protecting Nick Foles will be.What do the Jaguars do next: Having addressed the offensive line with their premium pick, the Jags use their second round selection to address the need at edge rusher with Michigan’s Chase Winovich, then spend two third round picks on adding to the offensive side with Miles Sanders of Penn St. and Josh Oliver of San Jose St. at running back and tight end, respectively. They add by BAP theory on Day Three of the draft.Scenario 2: “The QB Run”What happens picks #1-6: In this scenario, despite all the talk about this being a bad year for quarterbacks, three of them go off the board within the first six selections with Arizona and the Giants going with rumored passers of their choice, and the Jets finding a trading partner to move up and select another. This leaves the Jaguars with some intriguing possibilities.ARI- Kyler Murray, QB, OklahomaSF- Nick Bosa, DL Barry Church Jersey , Ohio St.DEN (via NYJ)- Drew Lock, QB, MissouriOAK- Josh Allen, Edge, KentuckyTB- Quinnen Williams, DL, AlabamaNYG- Daniel Jones, QB, DukeWhat do the Jaguars do at No. 7: Well, what an interesting state of affairs this would leave Tom Coughlin and Dave Caldwell in.They once again stare at their choice of best offensive lineman or tight end available, and thanks to the Giants have Rashan Gary added to the mix of Sweat and Burns. But Tampa Bay going with Williams to replace the “on his way out” Gerald McCoy, allows Devin White to slide into the Jaguars’ lap and while it’s rare to take a linebacker this high, remember Tom Coughlin has precedent in selecting Kevin Hardy second overall in 1996 for the Jaguars, and he worked out pretty well. White is as good, if not better, than Hardy was as a prospect and allows the Jaguars to solidify the linebacker position pairing him with Myles Jack and letting the team move on from what appears to be a souring marriage with Telvin Smith via a draft day trade, and adding additional draft picks in the process. What do the Jaguars do next: By selecting White, the Jaguars are able to trade Telvin Smith for an extra third round pick, bringing their Day Two total selections to four. With the added ammunition, they go heavy on the offensive side, drafting offensive tackle Kaleb McGary with their first second round pick and trading two of the three third round selections to move back into the second round, (something Dave Caldwell has been known to do),to take Memphis running back Darrell Henderson. Finally, they address the tight end spot with their remaining third round pick by selecting San Diego St. tight end Kahale Warring. Day Three is used to find best available edge rusher and safety.Scenario Three: “Weapon X”What happens picks #1-6: The Cardinals pass on Kyler Murray, and sends the NFL Draft into a free for all at the top http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-ereck-flowers-jersey , with Murray landing to Oakland and more defensive talent pushed down the board. Meanwhile, the Jets decide to shore up their offensive line for Sam D’Arnold with a somewhat surprise pick and the Giants have Allen fall into their laps.ARI- Quinnen Williams, DL, AlabamaSF- Nick Bosa, DL, Ohio St.NYJ- Jonah Williams, OT, AlabamaOAK- Kyler Murray, QB, OklahomaTB- Devin White, LB, LSUNYG- Josh Allen, Edge, KentuckyWhat do the Jaguars do at No. 7: The Jaguars are once again left with Jawaan Taylor available to them, as well as Ed Oliver, Gary, and Sweat, but they decide to equip Nick Foles with the best offensive weapon available in their opinion and select the tight end from Iowa... Noah Fant. The Jaguars view Fant’s size, speed, and big play capabilities as solving two needs in one as both a tight end and vertical threat more so than his teammate Hockenson and though some scoff at the notion, Fant is shown to be the top offensive player on their board. What do the Jaguars do next: After solving the tight end issue, and probably shocking a great number of Jags fans, the team spends night two addressing it’s other needs with the team selecting offensive tackle Tytus Howard of Alabama State in the second round, followed by Boston College’s Zach Allen and David Montgomery of Iowa State in the third round to address the defensive end and running back spots and additional needs at safety and receiver on Day 3.
from four to two after last weekend’s rookie minicamp http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-long-jersey , but they aren’t done looking for the right man to handle the job in 2019. has confirmed that the Bears have acquired kicker Eddy Pineiro in a trade with the Raiders. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Raiders will get a 2021 seventh-round pick in return as long as Pineiro is on Chicago’s active roster for at least five games. If Pineiro does make the team, it will be his first chance to kick in a regular season game. He signed with the Raiders after going undrafted out of Florida last season and landed on injured reserve when the team made the cut to 53 players. He was 3-of-3 on field goals and made the only extra point he tried in his lone preseason appearance.Elliott Fry and Chris Blewitt are the other two kickers on the roster in Chicago. When the Chicago Bears moved up in the third-round to take running back David Montgomery from Iowa State, the prevailing thought was that the Bears were getting a perfect fit for the Matt Nagy..."When the Chicago Bears moved up in the third-round to take running back David Montgomery from Iowa State, the prevailing thought was that the Bears were getting a perfect fit for the Matt Nagy offense. The player comp most associated with Montgomery was Kareem Hunt Womens Tom Waddle Jersey , and in 2017 as a third-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs, Hunt was named to the Pro Bowl in a similar scheme. Nagy’s 2018 Bears’ offense wasn’t able to provide as many looks due to not having a versatile tailback. But now, with both the rookie Montgomery and veteran free agent pick up Mike Davis to go along with the do-it-all Tarik Cohen, the Bears should be able to be less predictable on offense. In a recent ESPN Insider article from Matt Bowen Sam Acho Jersey , he takes a look at 15 rookies from the 2019 NFL draft who landed with the perfect teams, and it’s no surprise he talks up the fit Montgomery has in Chicago. Bowen also spotlighted the stat projections from ESPN’s Mike Clay.If Montgomery does have 250 touches, that will still be short of the 270 touches that Jordan Howard had a year ago. I think 215 rushing attempts might be a little high for him as Davis, Cohen http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-devin-hester-jersey , Cordarrelle Patterson and fellow rookie Kerrith Whyte Jr. all could factor into the mix in 2019. Regardless, the Bears running back committee will present more options for Nagy and keep defenses guessing.
COSTA MESA http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-ingram-jersey , Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers would welcome the return of tight end Antonio Gates following the serious knee injury sustained by Hunter Henry last week.Rivers endorsed the idea of re-signing Gates, who is a free agent after playing all 15 seasons of his record-setting career for the Chargers, but said the decision would be up to general manager Tom Telesco and head coach Anthony Lynn.“I would always be excited if he walked back in the door, obviously. Certainly, he would get my vote,” Rivers said Tuesday.Gates would be a logical fit to help replace Henry, who is expected to miss the upcoming season because of a torn ACL he sustained in practice. Henry had emerged as a top target for Rivers over his first two seasons with 81 receptions for 1,057 yards and 12 touchdowns, contributing to the team’s decision not to bring back Gates.Gates caught 87 of his 114 touchdown receptions from Rivers, the second-most by a quarterback-receiver combination in NFL history behind the 112 touchdown passes Peyton Manning threw to Marvin Harrison for Indianapolis. Gates has the most touchdown receptions by a tight end in NFL history to go along with his franchise-record 927 receptions and 11 Womens Junior Seau Jersey ,508 yards receiving. The absence of Henry leaves Virgil Green as the only tight end currently on the roster that has caught a pass in an NFL game. Behind Green, who signed with the Chargers as a free agent from Denver in April, are second-year players Sean Culkin and Braedon Bowman and rookies Cole Hunt and Ben Johnson.“It will look different without Hunter in there, but thankfully we have another 10 practices or so, counting the mini-camp, to continue to shape the offense for who we’re going to be,” Rivers said.Rivers had been in contact with Gates since Henry tore his ACL, declining to discuss the specifics of their conversations.“If something were to happen down the road, he wouldn’t have wanted it to come that way with Hunter’s absence,” Rivers said.—- The Chargers are 6-2 at the halfway point of the season (it seems like we say that a lot but it feels awfully good Doug Flutie Jersey , doesn’t it?) and there isn’t an immediate buzzkill in the near future as their next opponent, the abysmal Oakland Raiders, are barely stumbling through their schedule, as it is.Not much has changed since these two teams last met other than the trading away of Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys. This move, however, shouldn’t affect much of anything. In their last match-up, Cooper was all but a non-factor after he was held to just one catch on a single target for 10 yards. Veteran defensive end Bruce Irvin was also recently cut from the team. That only spells worse things for the defense as Irvin was one of the only players that sacked Philip Rivers in the month of October.Although you can never completely write off a team in a divisional game, this one will make it really hard not to.On and off paper, the team has been awful and only got worse over the last 30 days. But alas, there are still things to keep an eye on as I’m sure this game will be a tad more interesting than we would like to expect.1.) After two-straight games of 100+ rushing yards and 7.0+ yards per carry http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-trevor-williams-jersey , can Melvin Gordon continue his momentum against the Raiders interior defensive line?On October 7th, Gordon hit a season-low in yards per carry and his second lowest output on the ground against the Raiders. This may be surprising to look back on as the Raiders defense has been well-recorded as being a wet blanket of a unit, but it’s their interior defensive line that has been the best group on the entire team. There are two rookies along with veteran-signee Jonathan Hankins that make up the majority of the rotation. Maurice Hurst (Michigan) and P.J. Hall (Sam Houston State) are two of the most athletic and disruptive rookies at the position so it is no surprise this is where they are finding success when limiting opponent’s run games.Fortunately for the Bolts, Gordon finds most of his success outside of the guards and should look to exploit the sudden loss Irvin out on the edge.2.) Will the secondary continue their resurgence against Derek Carr and the anemic Raiders passing offense?Just a couple years removed from a potential MVP-type of campaign during the 2016 season, Carr hasn’t come close to touching that level of play. This year, he’s on pace to set a career-high in completion percentage while simultaneously setting a career-worst in touchdown-to-interception ratio. His 10 touchdowns to 8 interceptions split is one of the worst in the league and a depth chart consisting of Brandon LaFell, Seth Roberts, and Jared Cook isn’t going to do him any favors against one of the league’s hottest defenses.Desmond King is currently the highest-rated cornerback in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus while Casey Hayward is still one of the top cornerback in the league in terms of yards allowed per route run.King has three interceptions in as many game over the last month with one of them being returned for a pick-six. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him snag another from the recently-rattled Carr. It’s a match-up made in heaven for the Bolts and I’m sure there won’t be one set of chops not being licked come Sunday afternoon.3.) With a banged-up offensive line, will the Chargers’ pass-rush have a field day?According to the team’s final injury report, offensive guard Kelechi Osemele Womens Desmond King Jersey , rookie offensive tackle Kolton Miller, and center Rodney Hudson were all limited in each of the team’s three practices this week. However, at this point, Oakland has set to set an injury designation to any of their players, leaving the Bolts to guess prior to tomorrow’s game.If the Raiders were to be without Osemele, Miller, and Hudson, it would leave them open to a pass-rush that has found their groove, as of late. DEs Isaac Rochell and Melvin Ingram both have 3 sacks in the last month of action while rookie S Derwin James just needs one more sack to set the all-time record for sacks by a rookie defensive back which was set by his teammate, Desmond King Brandon Mebane Jersey , just one season ago.On another note, with a banged up offensive line early last month, the Chargers held the Raiders to a miniscule 41 yards on the ground and forced Carr to beat them with his arm. In this week’s contest, the Raiders will be without Marshawn Lynch and will have to rely on the has-been Muscle Hamster and Jalen Richard to carry the load.
forward Devin Robinson got into a street fight that resulted in Robinson going to the hospital and Mills getting arrested Womens Chris Long Jersey , according to multiple reports. The 6-foot-0, 191-pound Mills was arrested for disorderly affray, according to NBC 10. The 6-foot-8, 200-pound Robinson was arrested as well but was taken to the hospital, not to jail. It is unclear how seriously he was injured. The Wizards quickly released a statement saying Robinson will not be back with the team next season.“We are aware of the incident this morning involving Devin and are disappointed in his actions. We will not extend a qualifying offer to him for the 2019-20 season,” the team’s statement said. The Eagles have not said anything about Mills’ arrest.Last season Mills started the first eight games before he was lost for the season with a foot injury. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Nick Foles made the right choice when he picked the Eagles over the Buccaneers last season.Foles has a Super Bowl MVP award to show for a tough decision that came down to familiarity. Now he’ll get a chance to play against Tampa Bay on Sunday because Carson Wentz still isn’t ready to return from knee surgery.“It was close Wendell Smallwood Jersey ,” Foles said about choosing to return to Philadelphia to play behind Wentz instead of going to the Buccaneers to be the backup for Jameis Winston. “My wife and I were weighing all options. She was pregnant. We decided Philly was our home once before, we loved it, we loved the people, we loved the city, and what better place to bring our daughter into the world.”Foles had committed to Arizona State in high school when Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter was the coach of the Sun Devils. But the Philly connection won out.He is 6-1 filling in since Wentz tore two knee ligaments in Week 14 last year. That record includes playoffs and the final regular-season game, in which Foles played only one quarter.Foles was 19 of 34 for 117 yards http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-chris-maragos-jersey , no touchdowns and one interception in Philadelphia’s 18-12 win over Atlanta last Thursday.Wentz had surgery to repair a torn ACL and LCL last Dec. 13 and hasn’t been medically cleared to play.“As training camp progressed, his strength, lower body strength, his upper body strength, all trending in the right direction,” coach Doug Pederson said.Notes: Wentz Womens Darren Sproles Jersey , WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder), RB Darren Sproles (hamstring) and WR Shelton Gibson (knee) were limited in Wednesday’s practice. … The Eagles signed WR Kamar Aiken and release WR Markus Wheaton. Aiken was released among the final cuts. Pederson said: “Kamar gives us depth. He gives us experience. He gives us some special teams availability. It’s a good fit.”
conditioning Womens Landry Jones Jersey , organized team activities, minicamp and training camp — and never complained about his contract.Defensive end Yannick Ngakoue essentially took the opposite approach .The team rewarded one of them. The Jaguars are giving Jack a four-year contract extension worth $57 million and includes $33 million guaranteed, a person familiar with the situation said Saturday. The person spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the deal has not been signed. The person said the extension includes a $13 million signing bonus, making Jack's salary cap number about $4 million in 2019.The extension gives the team more flexibility with its franchise tag in 2020, eliminating the possibility that Jacksonville would have had to choose between tagging Jack or Ngakoue. Now, the Jaguars can tag Ngakoue.A second-round draft pick from UCLA in 2016, Jack was entering the final year of his rookie deal. His base salary in 2019 is $1 Donte Moncrief Jersey ,313,787, and his new deal makes him the NFL's third-highest paid inside linebacker — behind Seattle's Bobby Wagner and the New York Jets' C.J. Mosley.Jack has played in all 48 games over three seasons, including 42 starts, and has 221 tackles, five sacks and an interception. The deal came on the same day Jacksonville trimmed its roster to the NFL-mandated 53-man limit. The team kept just three running backs — Leonard Fournette, Alfred Blue and rookie Ryquell Armstead — and likely will add another in the next few days. The Jaguars waived/injured Devante Mays and waived fellow running back Elijah Hood. They released veteran Thomas Rawls on Friday. The team also placed receiver Terrelle Pryor and offensive tackle Ben Ijalana on injured reserve and waived/injured offensive linemen Donnell Greene http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-a.j.-bouye-jersey , K.C. McDermott and Leonard Wester. All three will revert to IR if they clear waivers.Jacksonville placed linebacker Jake Ryan on the reserve/non-football injury list. Ryan has yet to practice since signing in free agency.Notable cuts include safety C.J. Reavis, receiver Tyre Brady, cornerback Quenton Meeks and quarterback Alex McGough. Two undrafted free agents made the roster: linebacker Joe Giles-Harris and safety Andrew Wingard. Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack was just trying to relax, and find something to do during the offseason. Now, he’s operating an unlikely small business, selling homemade candles. This story starts in a way that makes sense, but also makes him a target for teasing in the locker room.“I always take baths with candles . . . so I made my own little lavender candle Womens Leonard Fournette Jersey ,” Jack said, via Tess Demeyer of . “I lit it, and I was reading in the bath, and I was like, ‘Oh, OK. This candle’s actually all right.’”He posted a photo of it on social media, people seemed interested Barry Church Jersey , so he started making more of them at home. He taught himself to make them by watching YouTube videos, and has been experimenting with formulas. He was selling his hand-poured creations for $10 each, but bumped the price to $20 when demand outpaced supply. That didn’t keep teammates Leonard Fournette and Jalen Ramsey from making fun of him, and he said others “were talking crazy” about it. Then he brought in samples for teammates.“Some people tried to partner up with me on the business, and some people were giving me ideas,” he said. “I’m like, ‘No http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-ereck-flowers-jersey , you were being haters at first. Now you want to team up with me.’ It’s just funny how they switched from one side to the other.”Jack is using the proceeds from the venture to help local schools and other groups. He’s currently a one-man business, making the candles, shipping them, and handling the bookkeeping. He might want to enlist some help when the season starts, lest he burn it at both ends.
of the schedule. Broncos coach Vic Fangio is not one of them.“I had no reaction http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-long-jersey , really,” Fango told reporters on Thursday. “I’m only interested to see who we play the first two weeks because that’s who you’ll start planning on in the offseason. Other than that, the schedule at this point in the season is really kind of irrelevant. Where the schedule does matter sometimes is during the season you may play teams that might be missing players. That helps you. Or, you might be missing your own players. That hurts you. Or Womens Tom Waddle Jersey , you get a team that’s on a hot streak and you get them right in the middle of their hot streak, or you get them when they’re playing down a little bit. There’s no way to predict what’s a good schedule.”Still, one of those first two opponents is the Bears, the team for which Fangio most recently worked.“It’ll just be another game Sam Acho Jersey ,” Fangio said. “I’m sure there’ll be a little bit of build up to it, but it will be special to go against those guys. Those guys were great players and great people. I loved being around them, but for those 60 minutes it’ll be another NFL game.”The Broncos are hoping Fangio isn’t just another coach. In this era of young offensive minds, Fangio’s no-nonsense http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-devin-hester-jersey , old-school attitude could be exactly what Denver needs. The Bears have finally made it into the end zone and they are back in front of the Eagles as a result.Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky hit wide receiver Allen Robinson for a 22-yard touchdown with just over nine minutes left in the game. Taylor Gabriel was stopped short on a two-point try, so the Bears lead 15-10.The throw to Robinson was the third big play through the air on the scoring drive. Trubisky found Gabriel for 18 yards on third-and-11 and then hooked up with Josh Bellamy for a 34-yard gain. The Bellamy play was well designed as the Bears looked like they were setting up a screen to Tarik Cohen before Bellamy broke down the field all by himself. The Eagles have punted twice since taking the lead on a Nick Foles touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert in the third quarter and will need to summon something more effective if we’re going to see the fourth lead change of the day.
http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-trevor-williams-jersey , and results elsewhere kept it from mattering as much as they’d have hoped. But the Chargers are headed to the postseason, and that’s still pretty good.Their 23-9 win over the Broncos wasn’t easy and may have created some new issues, but they improved to 12-4 and locked down the fifth seed in the AFC playoffs. That means a trip to see the AFC North champion Ravens next week, and marks their first playoff appearance in five years. They had to grind this game out against the Broncos, but pushed the margin out in the second half. That included a pick-two Womens Desmond King Jersey , as cornerback Casey Hayward intercepted a Broncos conversion attempt and returned it 102 yards for another couple of points.Philip Rivers was a pedestrian 14-of-24 for 176 yards, with a touchdown and two first-quarter interceptions. But their biggest worry is the condition of running back Melvin Gordon, who limped off the field in the fourth quarter and was getting his left ankle checked on the sidelines after he was dragged down from behind. Austin Ekeler finished the game and scored a touchdown, but Gordon’s availability for the postseason is obviously a concern. For the Broncos (6-10), the only things left are the announcements about the future of coach Vance Joseph and the offseason. It appears that the fine folks at ESPN feel that the Chargers can and should remain a top-5 club, even though half of their additions are unlikely to see the field this year. That speaks well to the strength of the Chargers as a team well-positioned for several years of success. However, it’s worth noting that these rankings don’t strongly correlate to in-season success. For instance, let’s take a look at the 2018 ranking to see how they thought the Chargers would do:2018 ESPN Pre-Draft Power Ranking:After 2017’s season Dan Feeney Jersey , I suppose that rank was fair, but we could see a hint of what was to come in the second half of their inaugural LA season.-Jason “Fear. The league is rank with it” Michaels
franchise quarterback Womens Chance Warmack Jersey , they did what they had to do to trade up and draft him. But aside from trading up for a franchise quarterback, the Eagles favor trading down. That’s the word from Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, who says that the Eagles’ top strategy in the draft is to get as many picks as they can, by trading down, trading players for picks or accumulating compensatory draft picks by maintaining discipline in free agency.“We believe in volume,” Lurie said. “We’re not cocky enough to feel that you’re going to draft way better than anybody else, and it’s very important to create volume. This draft we’re going to have good volume, especially in the top of the draft, two [second-round picks] and two [fourth-round picks] to go with our [first-round pick], and next year we’re going to have quite a few draft choices.”Lurie said that between the picks the Eagles already have in 2019 and the haul of compensatory picks they should get in 2020 Nick Foles Jersey , a lot of talent will be arriving in Philadelphia. “It’s very important, so when you look ahead over the next 13 months, we’re going to be adding about 20 draft choices,” Lurie said. “You’re going to have some undrafted players make the team, and so you can imagine there’s probably going to be about 20 to 25 players that are going to be about 22 years old, 23 years old on our roster, and we planned for that. To Howie’s credit in the front office, what they’ve done, I think they’ve always balanced this and sort of analyzed it, should you sign a player who is a potentially good starting player at age say 31 or 30 versus a low-level starting player who’s a lot younger. So http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-deandre-carter-jersey , when I talk to Howie, it’s always about what is the next two years going to be in that comparison. Yeah, you get the 25- or 26-year-old in his second contract, but he’s a low-level starter. His team didn’t want him, and maybe he can be a low-level starter for us at best, or you can get a guy who can make an impact, several guys who can make an impact, and we’re banking on them for one to two years. So that’s resource allocation.”Lurie, General Manager Howie Roseman and coach Doug Pederson have a smart, analytical approach to building the Eagles Womens Nigel Bradham Jersey , and it’s easy to envision them remaining in the playoffs for years to come. He’s ready to do whatever is needed of him, including takings snaps on special teams, to help the Eagles win another Championship. He talked about how Duce Staley is a really “smart dude” and someone who loves talking football Brandon Brooks Jersey , being on the field, and teaching the game as well. Sanders noted he’s very coachable and is looking forward to being able to learn a lot from Duce. The running back also said Staley was super excited when he made the call last night. On why the front office and coaching staff was so unanimous in their excitement about being able to get Sanders — especially at No. 53 — the running back explained that it was probably his character, and that he’s a very humble and respectful guy. He met with a lot of teams in the offseason, and he’s blessed that the Eagles chose him as the second round pick.Sanders was asked about being a high pick for the Eagles at running back and someone the fans will be keeping a close eye on. He talked about playing in front of 100,000 people at Penn State, so he doesn’t think any stage will be too big for him. He’s just looking forward to getting with the guys and earning their respect. On his development as a playerSanders said he learned a lot from Saquon Barkley, including how to watch film and things both on and off the field during his time as the No. 2 behind him. He talked a little bit about how it was tough to be a highly recruited guy and have to sit back and watch Barkley get the majority of carries, but that his commitment to the program never wavered. He said he kind of keeps to himself a bit, and so the person he goes to most when he’s being challenged is his Mom. He never thought about transferring, though http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-malik-jackson-jersey , joking that it would have been a way longer process, and he likes to compete, so he stayed patient and it worked out.Sanders said he wants to get better at everything, not just pass-blocking specifically. He also talked a bit about his process since the college season wrapped up in terms of working on his receiving skills. Sanders mentioned that he spent a lot of time catching jugs, working the jugs machine, and also working with Trace McSorley throughout the offseason to try and perfect his hands. He wants to be a running back that can be on the field for all three downs. The running back said that he considers his type of running style his own, but that he does watch film of guys like Barkely, Ezekiel Elliott and Todd Gurley.

Harris registered two pass break ups on an out and a comeback route early in practice and capped it off with an interception in the red zone towards the end. Harris boasts good size at 6’1” 205 pounds and could be a day three possibility for the Jaguars based on his length and play recognition.Physically, the two most impressive specimens on the field were Syracuse wide receiver Jamal Custis on offense and Akron inside linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III on defense. Custis looks like an avatar amongst the other wide receivers at 6’4’+ and 220 pounds and could certainly be an option for a red zone target for the Jaguars on day three. Custis flipped a switch this year at Syracuse and started to learn how to use his strength and length to win and boost his production. His run blocking ability, red zone prowess and willingness to contribute on special teams are all attributes that are generally high on the Jaguars’ priority list in a wide receiver.Gilbert looked like he lives in the weight room and tucked his trousers up to show off his ripped quads. Gilbert also tucked his jersey sleeves in to show sculpted arms and has the look of a Leon Jacobs-type bodybuilding linebacker. Gilbert looked quick and stood out in 7v7s and I’ll need to go back and watch the tape on him since I didn’t get a chance to watch Akron this season. Another wide receiver prospect that I would imagine the Jaguars would have high on their board due to his size and dominant run blocking ability is Ole Miss receiver Damarkus Lodge. Lodge measured in a notch under 6’2”, but doesn’t look three inches shorter when standing side by side next to Custis. Under the watch of his college head coach Matt Luke, who was in attendance, Lodge worked some out of the slot and had a very impressive red zone touchdown on a fade pass from Oklahoma State’s Taylor Cornelius. From the quarterbacks, Cornelius looked the most inconsistent of the bunch http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-ereck-flowers-jersey , often late with his timing and low on his placement. Cornelius even missed an easy pass in footwork drills against air and also had a screen pass intercepted for what would have been six points by North Carolina edge rusher Malik Carney early in 7v7s. David Blough looked crisp outside of one pass that should have been intercepted by James Madison cornerback Jimmy Moreland on a slant to Auburn wide receiver Ryan Davis. Blough appears to be a quick mental processor and has a chance of sticking around as an NFL back up. The best of the East bunch was Ole Miss quarterback Jordan Ta’amu, who had two gorgeous tear drops on two different corner routes to Georgia wide receiver Terry Godwin. Ta’amu also had a Hail Mary moon ball that was brought down in the end zone for a touchdown at the conclusion of practice. Ta’amu was feasting outside the numbers and showed some really good zip and anticipation in his passes, and he physically looks the part of an NFL quarterback with a strong, compact build.Other players that jumped out include Massachusetts running back Marquis Young, who had some nice juice to him when accelerating into the second level. Laval edge rusher Mathieu Betts was consistently the quickest off the snap, but may be the most unassuming athlete I’ve ever seen. A late add to the roster, Oklahoma fullback/tight end hybrid Carson Meier looked the part, beating Jimmy Moreland for a touchdown on a TE flat route in the red zone and showed off natural hands. WEST PRACTICESimilar to the East, the West team has some physical specimens at wide receiver and tight end Womens Brad Nortman Jersey , but lacked the overall polish of the morning group. Towering over defensive backs at 6’5” 215 pounds, Arizona wide receiver Shawn Poindexter has a werewolf composition and plays the position like a basketball player. Poindexter was solid outside of a bad drop on a perfectly placed go route by Fresno State quarterback Marcus McMaryion and also dropped a rope from Brett Rypien in the beginning of practice, but there is talent and length there to work with. The other receiver who stole the show today was 6’3” 215 pound Ron’quavion Tarver from Utah State. Tarver seemed to be open time and time again creating separation on a variety of routes, including a nice contested catch touchdown over UCLA safety Adarius Pickett in red zone period. Tarver did enough today to make me go back and find some Utah State film to watch back. With the Jaguars looking to rebuild their tight end depth, the West group did not disappoint today. Kendall Blanton looks like Marcedes Lewis and is physically very impressive, but had an up-and-down day catching the football, struggling to adjust to balls thrown behind or above him. One rep Blanton would make a nice extension catch over a defender in traffic over Michigan safety Tyree Kinnel, and the next rep Kinnel would cause him to drop a routine out route. At 6’6” 265 pounds, Blanton is more of a blocking tight end but showed more athleticism today than I originally gave him credit for.The other tight end who shined today was Andrew Beck. Beck was rarely used as a receiver at Texas until this past season when he jumped out to me on tape Dawuane Smoot Jersey , but his athleticism and soft hands were evident, working a variety of routes on the tree out of both tight end and fullback. In addition to making plays in the pass game, Beck turned some heads as a blocker going full steam ahead to make contact with anyone he saw lined up across from him. Along with Carson Meier (mentioned above), Tyre McCants, and Trevon Wesco in this class, Beck is one of those intriguing hybrids who could be a target for the Jaguars if they choose to move on from the dedicated fullback under John DeFilippo.Out of the West quarterbacks, Boise State’s Brett Rypien was the most talented passer by far. Rypien’s arm is much livelier than anyone else at Shrine practices and his balls make an audible noise when they make contact with receiver’s hands. After Rypien, Fresno State’s Marcus McMaryion was the most efficient and comfortable of the group, doing well to process with his eyes and make good decisions as a distributor. McMaryion was a machine in red zone periods http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-andrew-norwell-jersey , finishing off each drive with a touchdown. North Dakota State’s Easton Stick has the most concise footwork out of the trio, but is far behind Rypien and McMaryion as a passer. Stick’s passes seem to take a while to get to his target and his arm talent doesn’t seem adequate for an NFL starter. Stick looks noticeably smaller than the other quarterbacks and had some passes batted down. One important thing to note is that the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff was running West practice and they seemed to really take a liking to Rypien. Rypien also mentioned in a post practice interview that he spoke at length with some members of the Dolphins organization earlier in the week.Speaking of meetings, Vikings general manager Rick Spielman hung around after practice to chat with Nebraska running back Ozigbo on the field, who had a nice day catching the ball out of the backfield.Defensively, things got very chippy and the defensive linemen put on a show, led by Texas A&M nose tackle Daylon Mack and Kansas defensive tackle Daniel Wise. Mack routinely bull rushed interior lineman to blow up run plays in the backfield along with Texas defensive tackle Chris Nelson. Wise got in a heated exchange with Indiana center Nick Linder, brother of Jaguars center Brandon Linder. Following a rep, Wise smothered Linder into the ground and Linder knocked Wise’s helmet off, which was followed up by Wise yelling “I’m whooping your ass Womens Abry Jones Jersey , boy!” as he was asked to take a breather. Should the Jacksonville Jaguars be interested?A former second round pick out of the University of Florida, Gilbert has a long history of injuries — playing a full 16-game schedule just twice in his eight-season career. His last two seasons have been marred by injuries and a four-game suspension, playing in just 12 games total since the end of the 2016 season.Gilbert just turned 31 years old and I don’t know if he should be a target. He’s certainly shown quite a bit of talent in his career and a change of scenery out of Pittsburgh could do him well. He’s also going to come very cheap, counting less than $5 million against the cap. But do you want to bring a guy on who you almost know won’t be able to shoulder the load of a full NFL season? He’s in the last year of his current contract so this would certainly be a stop gap measure. What do you think? Should the Jaguars think about trading for Gilbert? Or are there other better targets at right tackle out there? Let us know in the comments below!
to the Chicago Bears Cody Parkey Jersey , Khalil Mack cashed in with a new six-year, $141 million extension that makes him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history. He’s still second fiddle to Von Miller, though.Miller was voted the league’s best edge rusher in the latest Associated Press position rankings, earning seven first-place votes in balloting of 10 AP football writers. The three other first-place votes went to Mack. The star Broncos linebacker “is simply the best, as the Seahawks were reminded in the season opener,” said AP’s Dave Campbell, based in Minneapolis.Miller, who had four quarterback hits, three sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in wrecking Seattle’s game plan in Denver’s 27-24 season-opening win http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-khalil-mack-jersey , scored 97 points in the 10-points-to-one system. That’s four more than Mack and one point better than Tom Brady, who edged out Aaron Rodgers 96-93 in the quarterback rankings last week.“The NFL’s sack master finds a way to get to the quarterback, even when he’s double-teamed,” said New York-based Dennis Waszak Jr., who also ranked Miller No. 1. “He’s quick, strong, versatile and sometimes unstoppable.”Added New York-based Barry Wilner, “Yes, he might also get the nod as the best outside linebacker in the game. That’s how versatile and talented Miller is. He makes the Orange Crush go.”The AP ranks linebackers in Week 8. Next week, it’s running backs.Although “no one can match the former Super Bowl MVP when it comes to rushing off the edge with speed Gale Sayers Jersey ,” Bay Area-based Josh Dubow said, “Mack is the highest-paid defensive player for a reason,” so he ranked Mack ahead of Miller.“Just look at his dominant stats from his four years in Oakland,” Dubow said, “Or his first game in Chicago.”Mack made an immediate impact in his Bears debut, dominating the Packers last Sunday night until a gimpy Rodgers, who was carted off with a knee injury in the first half, returned after halftime to rally Green Bay from a 20-point deficit for a 24-23 win.“Mack is the type of game-wrecking talent that teams only dream of having. Unless you’re the Oakland Raiders, who decided they needed to part ways with him,” Waszak said. “Mack paid off immediately for the Bears by forcing two turnovers in the span of six plays in Chicago’s opener at Green Bay.”Mack had a 27-yard pick-6 and strip-sacked backup QB DeShone Kizer in the red zone.“Hugely questionable decision for the Raiders to get rid of him in his prime Womens Walter Payton Jersey ,” said Washington-based Howard Fendrich, who ranked Mack the best pass rusher in the game. “The Bears got themselves a superstar.”“His tour de force in the season opener at Green Bay, without any training camp or preseason, shows why Mack could be worth every penny Chicago is paying him,” Wilner said.Philadelphia-based Rob Maaddi said that what separates Miller is “his Super Bowl MVP award” for strip-sacking Cam Newton twice in Denver’s win over Carolina in Super Bowl 50.What Mack has that Miller doesn’t is a Defensive Player of the Year award, something Teresa Walker of Nashville thinks could change this year if last week was any indication of the year Miller could have playing alongside rookie Bradley Chubb, the fifth overall pick in the draft.“Miller gets the nod over Khalil Mack thanks to a season opener that was simply amazing,” Walker said. “If Miller keeps this up, he should join Mack as a Defensive Player of the Year.”Last year, Miller was the hands-down winner in outside linebacker rankings and Mack the runaway winner in defensive end balloting. This year http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jim-mcmahon-jersey , the AP put pass rushers together in the edge rusher category. The Los Angeles Chargers‘ Joey Bosa was a distant third, followed by Arizona’s Chandler Jones, who led the league with 17 sacks last season and whom Dallas-based Schuyler Dixon calls “one of the most consistent threats in the game.”“Bosa’s absence was felt in a Week 1 loss to K.C.,” said New York-based Simmi Buttar, noting Bosa has 23 sacks in 28 career games. Bosa also will miss Sunday’s game at Buffalo because of a bone bruise in his left foot.Houston’s J.J. Watt at No. 5 and the Jaguars‘ Calais Campbell at No. 6 usually rush more from the interior. The Vikings‘ Everson Griffen was seventh, followed by the Saints‘ Cameron Jordan, the Chargers’ Melvin Ingram, and the Browns‘ Myles Garrett, the top overall pick in last year’s draft. Also receiving votes: DeMarcus Lawrence of the Cowboys, Justin Houston of the Chiefs Tarik Cohen Jersey , Terrell Suggs of the Ravens, Vic Beasley of the Falcons, Cameron Wake of the Dolphins, Ryan Kerrigan of Washington and Carlos Dunlap of the Bengals. T.J. Watt of the Steelers and Yannick Ngakoue of the Jaguars each received one vote.___ Wide receiver Allen Robinson had one of his biggest games of the year in the Bears’ playoff loss to the Eagles in January.Robinson caught 10 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown in the kind of performance that Chicago was hoping to get when they signed him to a three-year, $42 million deal as a free agent. The Bears signed Robinson to that contract after he tore his ACL during the 2017 season and that injury limited the work he could do with the team last offseason. That limited offseason was joined by the typical issues that come with integrating into a new offensive scheme and the combination make it little surprise that Robinson’s production spiked late in the season. Neither should be an issue this year as Robinson is in the same offense without any health issues holding him back at practice.“For me a big difference is not being injured,” Robinson said, via the . “Being able to come in and work on stuff that I want to work on.”Robinson wasn’t the only one new to the offense last season. Everyone on the team was getting used to working in head coach Matt Nagy’s scheme for the first time and anything short of marked improvement on offense this year will likely be seen as a disappointment in Chicago.

BrownVasha Hunt-USA TODAY SportsA.J. Brown, WR, Ole MissA summary of the logic of my pick.As the Colts internet GM, I chose to play to my personal strengths and tried to hedge against my weaknesses, which really spans more than half the positions. Frankly, defensive players and offensive linemen are not areas I can really claim any level of understanding in evaluating prospects either on film, or in advanced metrics and counting stats. I have no interest rolling the dice on a player with a mixed bag of strengths and weaknesses if I can afford not to, so it’s something I chose to take into consideration. When taking a player at 26th overall, it was important for me to hit on a player with the most rock solid guarantee for success that I could in selecting for the team, as this now the territory where players aren’t always a lock to become a solid contributor in the NFL. Mind you, this is the same spot where Marcus Smith was taken in the 2014 NFL draft.Let me just say this: I like my pick. Despite my limitations, I really like my pick. Luckily for me, I had the opportunity to select a player from a position group that: plays more to my evaluation strengths; has an excellent skillset and production floor; and fits what is arguably the number one need of the Indianapolis Colts. Selecting A.J. Brown 26th overall was a sure hit at a location in the draft where prospects aren’t always a lock to be a high caliber, or even average NFL starter. He falls right in the middle of the Venn diagram of everything I’m looking for with my pick.Let’s quickly assess the Colts needs.According to our friends at SB Nation’s Stampede Blue, the biggest needs of the Colts heading into this offseason were:Wide ReceiverDefensive LineSafetyCornerbackTight EndAlthough it was never explicitly stated, prevailing logic would dictate that these are essentially listed in the order of importance. Most would agree that the Colts have a sort of 1A, 1B need at Wide Receiver and Defensive Line. Both positions are very important positional voids for the Colts that can be argued both for and against as the number one need, and most agree that it’s pretty close.Fortunately for the Colts, this year’s NFL draft is full of both high end Defensive Line and Wide Receiver talent. However, by this time in the BGN Readers Mock Draft, 9 Defensive Linemen have been selected in the first 25 picks, while only 2 teams took Wide Receivers. Even in an extremely top heavy DL class, a significant amount of the market supply has already been dried up.As stated above, my logic is to take a player that fits a need that I can feel comfortable evaluating with relative safety. With the DL pool of players now dried up into the double digits, we’re now dealing with a remaining set of players with a mixed bag pros and cons. I know I don’t possess the requisite knowledge to pick out a bona-fide stud DL at this point http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-lane-johnson-jersey , so I looked for the opportunity to hedge against the unknowns.Enter, A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss. Why do I feel confident about A.J. Brown and picking a wide receiver? When evaluating a Wide Receiver prospect, there are certain definable data elements that can be predictive of future performance with reasonable consistency. That’s right, there is a definable process for this! These criteria are:Requisite SizeSize Adjusted Athleticism ScoresCollege DominanceBreakout AgeYPRThe more of these requirements a WR prospect meets, the more likely that player is to succeed at the NFL level. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, but as a rule of thumb you can use this is as a reliable system of evaluation. Note that film grinding is not a part of this process. Anybody can turn on YouTube to watch game tape and highlights, and deceive themselves into a false opinion on a player, and even worse… their own evaluation ability. I’m looking at you, draft Twitter and your awful Riley Ridley takes. What we care about is production and athleticism. We are married to both. Context keys also matter, such as level of competition, and supporting cast: i.e. did this person play with other NFL caliber players on their team?Let’s dig into A.J. Brown’s profile.MeasurablesHT: 6’0”WT: 226 lbsAge: 21.8 Arm Length: 32 ⅞ (78th%)A.J. Brown fits the archetype for the modern NFL receiver. He has requisite size and measurables that teams are looking for: he’s neither undersized or oversized, both in height and weight. More teams are spreading the ball around to more and more receivers, as the NFL is seeing an uptick in passing. We are seeing an increase in WR 2-3 production as passing attacks become more varied, while we see less of a reliance on the big-bodied X receiver. What I am saying is, 6’0” is not a red flag for a WR prospect in 2019. Weapons come in all shapes and sizes. In fact, Brown is closer to the size profile of the modern weapon receiver, even when compared to his former Ole Miss teammate, D.K. Metcalf. Speed, agility and production is what ultimately matters most.Let’s see if he dominated in college:College Dominator Score: 32.6% (59th%)College YPR: 16.1 (71st%)Breakout Age: 20.2 (59th%)’16 Freshman: 29 rec, 412 yards‘17 Sophomore: 75 rec, 1,252 yards‘18 Junior: 85 rec, 1,320 yardsIn 3 years at Ole Miss, A.J. Brown posted two 1 Womens Nelson Agholor Jersey ,000+ yard seasons. He broke out in his Sophomore year where he became the staple of the offense, demanding a higher target share than D.K. Metcalf and DaMarkus Lodge. It’s important to note that among his supporting cast were two receivers that are likely to both have a future in the NFL.While other players could’ve hogged a significant portion of Brown’s target share, he still commanded a significant role in his offense. We could see a scenario where we might have to discount his production, yet he still posted a 59th percentile Dominator Rating. Along with multiple 1,000+ yard seasons, this is a major accomplishment for a Wide Receiver prospect. He showed that he was prolific at a young age, with tough competition for targets, and over multiple seasons. This sets a reasonable floor for us to work with in what we can expect for him to produce in the NFL. This is among the most stable production profiles you can find, as he excelled in all that we would ask of a college Wide Receiver. It’s time confirm his production with athleticismAthleticism Metrics and Scores40-Yard Dash: 4.49Speed Score: 109.7 (89th%)Burst Score: 122.1 (56th%)A.J. Brown showed up in Indianapolis for the Combine, so we are going to keep him there. Running a 4.49 40-yard dash at 226 lbs garnered him a Speed Score in the 89th percentile. He showed upper percentile size adjusted burst as well. His athletic profile may be overshadowed by his Ole Miss teammate D.K. Metcalf, but Brown demonstrated at the Combine that he has the athleticism to reinforce his superior production profile, shown above. For information and understanding on player scores, advanced metrics, and data analysis tools, visit www.playerprofiler.com. This is the website I used and cited for my stats for A.J. Brown, which I use almost every day as a fantasy football enthusiast. For more understanding A.J. Brown the player, as well as other NFL players and rookies, scroll down to the YouTube clips near the bottom of each players profile page. No, I’m not affiliated with them, but they do get my endorsement. In SummaryA.J. Brown has a production profile that is nearly flawless. He produced at the college level at levels that indicate that he will absolutely succeed at the NFL level. He’s as close to sure thing that one could really want, rivaled by only N’Keal Harry who was selected earlier by the Ravens in this mock.If the Colts do take A.J. Brown in this upcoming NFL draft, his fit with the team would be excellent. They have speedy (but aging) T.Y. Hilton on the outside, as well as Devin Funchess on a one-year deal. Funchess is not a lock to be a long term piece for the Colts, so he shouldn’t be an obstacle to selecting A.J. Brown, who has demonstrated both slot and outside capability.Oh, and Dear Colts fans… On Week 3 of the 2018 NFL season, my girlfriend and I went to the Eagles home game versus the Colts (as she’s a big Colts fan). With about 41-seconds left in the 1st quarter Zach Ertz Jersey , Ryan Grant ran a corner route 1-on-1 versus Ronald Darby and won his battle to score the touchdown. In the midst of the moans and groans of highly agitated Eagles fans, came a shout loud from about 3 rows back: “Even I could’ve covered freaking Ryan Grant…!”. He was probably right. You’re welcome, Indy. He’s definitely an interesting option."The running back position is definitely one the Eagles are going to need to figure out this offseason, and one name that could be of interest is Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard. Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday that several teams inquired about his trade value at the Combine, and it’s possible that the Eagles were one of them.Howard would be an interesting prospect, and there’s a Joe Douglas connection there that makes the possibility a bit more tangible, with Douglas having drafted him in 2016. Since then, Howard has been a big part of the Bears offense. In his rookie season, Howard had 1,313 rushing yards on 252 carries and six touchdowns, only to follow that up with yet another 1,000-plus yard season (1,122) on 276 carries and nine scores. Last season was a little less productive for the rusher, but he still came close to hitting that 1,000-yard mark with 935 yards on 250 carries and again, nine touchdowns.I interviewed Howard at the NFL Combine in early 2016, and he was an impressive prospect even then. He talked about being acutely aware of how many carries he’s had throughout his college career, and knowing what mileage can mean for the career length of a running back. His journey to the NFL was also interesting, with Howard having played his first two college seasons at UAB before the program was dismantled, and finishing his career at Indiana University — coming in the year after Tevin Coleman shined for the Hoosiers. He ran for only 881 yards his freshman year at UAB, but followed that up with two 1,000-plus yard seasons in a row, despite transferring in early 2015.Howard will be playing on the final year of his rookie contract in 2019, and could be interesting — and somewhat less expensive — option for the Eagles as they start to make plans for free agency and the draft.Of course, it also depends on what Chicago is asking for the three-year running back.

Photo by Robert Reiners/Getty ImagesTalladega Nights’ eponymous character Ricky Bobby was many things: A simpleton, a boorish oaf, a son seeking long-lost paternal affection, and a human treasure trove of one-liners. But what defined him the most was a passion to go fast. “America is all about speed. Hot, nasty, badass speed,” quips Will Ferrell’s Bobby, without a hint of irony, at one point in the 2006 comedy. The main tagline of the film “If you ain’t first, you’re last,” rings true.Bobby’s main life mission similarly defines some of pro football’s best active speed demons, as they can finally prove, once and for all, who the fastest player in the NFL is. Never mind the obvious parallels of unnecessary machismo bragging rights—this question deserves an answer everyone has been kind of (?) waiting for. A question where a pair of Bears get the chance to provide their own valuable input as their legs and natural gifts should allow them.On Saturday June 29, the Bears’ Tarik Cohen and John Franklin III will be present among a gaggle of other football blazers in the inaugural 40 Yards of Gold all-star speed competition. There, Cohen, Franklin III, and counterparts such as the Saints’ Alvin Kamara, Titans’ Kevin Byard, and Cardinals’ Budda Baker will race head-to-head to ultimatelydetermine football’s “King of Speed”. To conclude the night, the eventual Champion of the Offensive Division will face off against the Champion of the Defensive Vision and offer an anticlimactic ending to the proceedings. Franklin III, he of a 4.32 40-yard dash run in 2018, is the betting favorite to win at +550 (11/2 odds) according to BookMaker. Cohen, the Bears’ main offensive game-breaker, settles in at +1200 (12/1 odds). The full list of participants is as follows:OFFENSE: Ted Ginn Jr., Jeff Badet, Corey Coleman Bennie Fowler III Jersey , Tarik Cohen, Robby Anderson, Richie James, Damiere Byrd, Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram, Kevin Snead, Christian Blake, Jacoby Ford, Mystery ParticipantDEFENSE: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Trae Waynes, John Franklin III, Kevin Byard, Quinton Dunbar, Rashard Robinson, Terrell Sinkfield, Jerome Baker, Jalen Myrick, Budda Baker, Donte Jackson, Charles James II, Mystery ParticipantThe aim of this contest is to provide a somewhat objective authority for the fastest player in the NFL and set a bar of (supposed) friendly competition for football’s continually growing freakish athletes. There have been previous humorous occasions testing speed merits of NFL players such as former Bengals receiver Chad Johnson racing a horse in 2007, and Bears returner great Devin Hester besting a cheetah in 2013 in a National Geographic documentary. But never ever has there been a trial between two football human racers: A compelling and tense one-track sprint everyone clearly needed. Knowing a player like Cohen, in the event he should win the competition, there won’t be much of any love lost on social media platforms. None of the other racers will hear the end of the boisterous Cohen letting them have it. He’ll be first, and everyone that isn’t first will assuredly be last. Should the more quiet Franklin III win it, it’ll offer the former Last Chance U star a needed profile boost to a hopeful budding career. Beyond the wholesome fun involved, if this competition blows up into anything remotely profitable, audiences should look forward to the NFL barging in and somehow stretching it out into a two-week primetime event with a quarter of an individual race taking place each night. There is no such thing as over-saturation, no sir. Amazing Race, Survivor http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-taylor-gabriel-jersey , American Ninja Warrior—watch out. GREEN BAY, Wis. — A blockbuster deal brought a new wrinkle to the NFL’s oldest rivalry. The Chicago Bears visit Lambeau Field on Sunday night, just in time for star pass-rusher Khalil Mack to potentially make his debut in the season opener against the Green Bay Packers.A premier player joins what figures to be an already tough defense. Defensive lineman Akiem Hicks can’t hide his glee.More Packers coverage from FOX Sports WisconsinPackers sign CB Tremon Smith off practice squadRodgers’ recent near-perfect play leaves LaFleur ‘speechless’Packers Snap Counts: Darnell Savage returns from ankle injuryUpon Further Review: Packers lean on running backs in win over ChiefsPHOTOS: Packers at Chiefs“When we got him, I was just so excited just to have such a prolific pass-rusher next to me. It’s going to be phenomenal,” Hicks said.He led the Bears last year with a career-high 8½ sacks. Mack is second in the NFL since 2015 with 36½ sacks. Promising third-year player Leonard Floyd, a 2016 first-round draft pick, will line up at the outside linebacker spot opposite Mack. This could spell trouble for offensive lines.“You usually have to game-plan around him, and then when you game-plan around somebody, regardless of what position it is, then there’s an advantage somewhere else,” coach Matt Nagy said. “That gives the advantage to other players on defense, so those guys need to step up when given opportunities.”The Packers looked into trading for Mack. Now they have to face him.“Yeah, I was lying in bed scrolling through Twitter like, ‘Dang, man. Gotta see him twice a year now,” Packers receiver Randall Cobb said about his reaction to the Bears’ deal for Mack. The primary responsibility for blocking Mack will fall to veteran right tackle Bryan Bulaga , who will be playing his first game since tearing his right ACL in November. At least Bulaga has had some time on the practice field this preseason, unlike Mack, who held out before being traded by the Oakland Raiders. He might get some help at times from the Packers’ deep tight end group, reinforced during the offseason with the additions of free agent Jimmy Graham and Marcedes Lewis to join veteran Lance Kendricks.6<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:5 dark horse impact players for the 2018 PackersThey’ll be tasked to give enough time to the ultimate equalizer: quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It just wasn’t clear if Mack would be ready to play this week, though Hicks sure seemed pretty confident that his new teammate would be on the field.“Well, that’s a really good player in his prime,” Rodgers said about Mack. “They obviously gave up some picks, but it just adds to the rivalry now that we get to see him twice a year.”Other notes and things to watch for the game:GRAHAM’S DEBUT: Graham, who signed as a free agent from Seattle, has already shown chemistry with Rodgers. The 6-foot-7 tight end could offer an enticing target especially in the red zone . Defenses may have to decide whether to pay more attention to Graham over the middle or receiver Davante Adams on the outside.“He can do it all over the field,” Rodgers said of Graham. “He’s got a wide, wide catch radius and there are a lot of things he can do.”TAKE TWO: The Bears made big moves in the offseason to get the most out of prized quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Whether he can deliver remains to be seen .“Everything that I saw and went through last year is going to help make me more comfortable this year,” Trubisky said.Trubisky threw for 2 Womens Trey Burton Jersey ,193 yards in 12 games last season after Chicago traded up a spot to draft him with the No. 2 overall pick. But he also had as many interceptions as touchdown passes while compiling a 77.5 rating that was about the same as Mike Glennon‘s (76.9).ON THE CORNER: The Packers revamped their cornerback group in the offseason, bringing back veteran Tramon Williams while taking rookies Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson with their first two picks in the draft. They’ve shown playmaking promise in training camp. Last year’s second-round pick, Kevin King, is also healthy again after missing time during his rookie year with a shoulder injury. The 6-foot-5 King has the length and speed to play press coverage on the edge.ROBINSON RETURNS: The Bears are counting on Trubisky to make big gains in first-year coach Nagy’s offense. They also gave him some new options, including former Jacksonville Pro Bowl receiver Allen Robinson. He returns to the field after tearing his left ACL in his left knee during last year’s opener with Jaguars. Signed by the Bears in March, Robinson did not catch pass in the preseason.MILESTONES: The NFC North rivalry goes back to 1921, with Green Bay holding a 96-94-6 edge. The game will also open up the 100th season in the history of the Packers.
